Russian experts share experience on opening IT parks with colleagues in Tajikistan
Tajikistan is enhancing the potential of technoparks and IT parks development in the country's economy. For this purpose, the country is turning to successful examples of start-up ecosystem development, in particular to examples from Russia that promote the development of innovative business culture and start-up ecosystem in Tajikistan.
In 2021, Russian experts from the accelerator Internet Initiatives Development Fund (IIDF) developed and presented a mentoring program to improve the skillset of local mentor professionals to further train entrepreneurs, incubators, and accelerator staff. The assignment was implemented thanks to the Knowledge Management and Capacity Building in Russia-UNDP Partnership project.
In the framework of the Youth for Business and Innovation project, funded by the Russian Federation, a webinar on 14 July 2021 on current issues and challenges in creating technology parks was held. The webinar featured speakers from the Russian entrepreneurship ecosystem based in Yakutia. They shared their experience of developing the system with regard to the region's weather conditions and market complexities: they spoke in detail about engaging the public sector and how to motivate the public sector to support technology parks. Russian experts also shared the history of the technopark creation, accelerator, and fund experience.
The webinar attracted more than 30 participants from the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of the Republic of Tajikistan and other government agencies, private sector, international organizations working in Tajikistan.
