International Consultant to support the capacity development in gender sensitive mediation in Georgia

UN Women will hire an international consultant to support the LEPL Levan Mikeladze Diplomatic Training and Research Institute (Mikeladze Institute) under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia to develop the capacity of Mikeladze Institute and introduce gender sensitive mediation and negotiation trainings and to increase the capacity of women in mediation and negotiation skills among the representatives of public sector as well as civil society.
Consultant’s duties:
- Conduct one day seminar on mediation and negotiation skills for women who are already engaged in formal/informal peace tracks, and/or for a mixed group including public sector and civil society representatives engaged in peace and mediation processes – to get better insights and understanding of the context and challenges faced;
- Revise and adapt a training manual on gender and mediation in close consultation with the Folke Bernadotte Academy (this cooperation will be facilitated by UN Women);
- Prepare a training module with a special focus on gender sensitive mediation/negotiation and support the Mikeladze Institute to integrate the module within its curricula;
- Pilot the training module through a ToT for instructors/lecturers or potential lecturers of Mikeladze Institute to ensure transfer of knowledge and shared ownership of the module;
- Prepare and submit final report with recommendations after the capacity development intervention for the consideration and follow up of the Mikeladze Institute.
