Women entrepreneurs from Uzbekistan participated in the international conference on creative economy in Saint Petersburg

On October 8-9, a delegation of women entrepreneurs from Uzbekistan took part in the International Conference on Creative Economy (RICS) in Saint Petersburg, which gathered representatives from over 30 countries. The entrepreneurs showcased their products—handmade clothing and textiles—during the conference sessions and interacted with representatives of Russian companies, including SLONVISH, APPLE SKIN, INCRUA, DNK Russia, and others.

In addition to participating in the forum, representatives of the Uzbek delegation met with the President of the Union of Light Industry Producers of Russia to discuss potential cooperation between Uzbek and Russian entrepreneurs working in the textile industry.

"Participation in the RICS conference was an important step in the development of Uzbekistan's creative industries. We reached agreements with Russian and Kazakhstani entrepreneurs on implementing joint projects, introducing eco-innovations, and promoting domestic brands in international markets," noted Shoirakhon Karimova, founder of the brand "Shoxon Shoirabegim." Her brand produces everyday clothing made from natural fabrics for women and children and also exports products to Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan.

Another participant, Marzhan Dosalieva, presented creative products from the KORPE brand. The company's showroom is located in the center of Tashkent and offers customers items featuring unique Uzbek prints, including traditional kurpachi (Uzbek national mattress), pillows, tablecloths, and bed linens. Marzhan agreed to prepare commercial proposals for Russian partners to explore the prospects of organizing joint production in Uzbekistan.

The knowledge exchange visit for Uzbek women entrepreneurs was organized with financial support of the Russian Federation within the framework of the project "Knowledge Management and Capacity Development in the UNDP-Russia Partnership".
