Russian expert contributes to improvement of building energy efficiency in Kyrgyzstan

Low carbon development and energy efficiency are important for creating and developing green economy in Kyrgyzstan. Today, there are more than 2,200 educational and health institutions in the country with outdated energy supply systems. This is a huge potential for energy saving and green economy development. In particular, the introduction and demonstration of green economy principles in the country's secondary schools will help to create a comfortable and safe learning environment.
The Russian expert analyzed the environmental situation in Bishkek and measures taken to improve energy efficiency. He conducted a series of online consultations with stakeholders and developed technical measures to modernize educational and healthcare institutions through the introduction of modern lighting and heating technologies, based on the successful experience of the Russian Federation. The expert also prepared a concept of the partnership and funding mechanisms for the modernization of education and health institutions, which will be widely used in Kyrgyzstan.
The expert assignment is implemented within the framework of the project "Knowledge Management and Capacity Building in the UNDP-Russia Partnership".
