Russian expert supports information technology modernization in Turkmenistan State Statistics Committee

Turkmenistan seeks to develop its digital economy and introduce digital technologies across various spheres. At the same time, the accelerated deployment of digital technologies requires improving the quality of data, including statistical data, and increasing the efficiency of data use. Such changes envisage upgrading software tools for the collection, processing, and analysis of statistical data.
To identify solutions in this area, the Russian expert conducted a review of existing software, regulations, reports on data collection, processing, and analysis, and prepared a report on the state of the IT infrastructure currently used by the State Statistics Committee of Turkmenistan.
23-24 February, the Russian expert held discussions on IT issues with representatives of the Computer Technology and Economic Department of the State Statistics Committee of Turkmenistan. During the event, the Russian expert provided recommendations for software modernization and presented Terms of Reference for tender on development and adaptation of existing software tools.
The work of the Russian expert is implemented with the financial support of the Russian Federation within the framework of the project "Knowledge Management and Capacity Building in the UNDP-Russia Partnership".
