Russian expert consulted partners in the Republic of Moldova on the preservation and development of the historical and cultural heritage
In February 2019, Irina Irbitskaya, Head of the Center of Urban Competence, RANEPA, visited the Republic of Moldova and held consultations with representatives of the Agency for Inspection and Restoration of Monuments.
Following the consultations, the expert prepared a report “Model Approach to Cultural Heritage Protection and Sustainable Management: How to ensure cultural heritage protection in the context of a lack of resources through the everyday practices of each person”, which assessed the conservation and development of the country's immovable historical and cultural heritage.
The Russian expert made recommendations on the modernization of the legislative and regulatory framework in the field of historical and cultural heritage and proposed approaches to the formation of the main directions of policy.
The expert’s task was implemented under the project “Knowledge Management and Capacity Building in the Russia-UNDP Partnership”.
