Russian expert shared experience of increasing investment attractiveness of territories

On November 13, 2019, Andrey Shpilenko, a Russian expert on free economic zones and director of the Association of Clusters and Technoparks of Russia, held an open lecture on "Russian and foreign experience of increasing the investment attractiveness of territories" in Dushanbe.

Andrey Shpilenko presented a detailed analysis of the activity of free economic zones (FEZ) of the Republic of Tajikistan and prepared recommendations to increase their investment attractiveness, including the formation of more attractive tax preferences for FEZs, improvement of their communication infrastructure, reduction of land lease volumes.

Participants of the open lecture discussed other ways to increase investment attractiveness of FEZs in an interactive format.

The lecture was organized by UNDP Tajikistan jointly with the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan. The event was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, Ministry of Industry and New Technologies, State Committee on Investments and State Property Management, National Patent Center, representatives of FEZ administrations and FEZ subjects, Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Tajikistan, National Association of Small and Medium Businesses.

Russian expert conducts a comprehensive analysis of business opportunities in free economic zones of the Republic of Tajikistan and identifies the most attractive sectors and possible mechanisms of their development.

The expert assignment is implemented within the framework of the project "Knowledge Management and Capacity Building in the UNDP-Russia Partnership".
