Russia approved the UNDP projects amounting to $14 mln from the Trust Fund
In October 2019, the Steering Committee of the Trust Fund of the Russian Federation decided to allocate $10 million in 2020-2022 for development projects.
The projects approved for funding are aimed at combating natural disasters in Cuba, social support in Cambodia, support for the development of ecotourism in Belarus and the development of aquaculture in the regions of Upper and Middle Guinea, strengthening communities in Tajikistan and the vital industries of Madagascar, and facilitating trade in Uzbekistan.
In addition, in March 2020 the Steering Committee allocated $4,2 million to support the Youth Window of the Trust Fund. The projects are aimed at enhancing social and economic opportunities for youth in Lao PDR, empowering young women entrepreneurship in Guinea and expanding quality job opportunities for the youth in key sectors of Cuban economy.
The projects are expected to involve extensive Russian expertise and cooperation with Russian expert institutes.
