Russia allocated $1 mln to support the UN Volunteers Programme
On 6 November 2020 the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation allocated $1 million to the UN Volunteers Programme to support a three-year Full-funding programme aimed at ensuring the participation of Russian citizens in UN activities within the framework of the bilateral agreement.
The funds allocated by the Russian Ministry will be used to extend the service of Russian volunteers from the 2020 recruitment process for one year, as well as to fund 10 new Russian UN volunteer positions: 7 youth positions in Belarus (UNDP), Botswana (UNDP), Venezuela (UNICEF), Guinea (Office of the UN Resident Coordinator), Mexico (UNDP), Serbia (UNICEF), Thailand (UNESCAP) and 3 specialist positions in Armenia (UNDP), Kenya (Office of the UN Resident Coordinator), Mexico (OHCHR).
