Russia supports the development of the freelance services market in Tajikistan
Growing freelance and outsourcing markets are unlocking new opportunities for youth employment and entrepreneurship. At the request of national partners, UNDP in Tajikistan hired a Russian expert to conduct a thorough analysis of the CIS freelance market. The study focused on identifying key market trends, sought-after skills, promising sectors, and outsourcing potential.
The expert’s assignment resulted in the creation of a freelance services market database, a structured directory of outsourcing companies across Russia and CIS countries, segmented by industry and services. This resource is designed to help Tajik freelancers identify potential partners and clients. Additionally, the expert developed recommendations for freelancers and businesses, offering insights into capacity building and strategies for leveraging outsourcing opportunities.
A significant output is the cooperation strategy, aimed at promoting partnerships between Tajik freelancers and CIS outsourcing companies. It provides concrete recommendations for bilateral agreements, business networking, and participation in industry events. Furthermore, it details best practices for entering the Russian and CIS markets, covering registration, networking, and industry analysis.
The implementation of the expert’s recommendations will foster greater employment opportunities for youth, enhancing their professional skills, and strengthening Tajikistan’s position in the international outsourcing market.
The work of the Russian expert was implemented with the financial support of the Russian Federation within the framework of the project "Knowledge Management and Capacity Development in the UNDP-Russia Partnership".
