Russia supports Armenian youth in preparing for future labour markets
On 22 July 2021 the final Project Board meeting of the Russia-financed project “Future Skills and Jobs for Armenia’s Rural Youth” marked project completion and reviewed the results of activities.
The two-year project’s activities were focused on preparing today’s youth for future labor market demands. The project reached out to the most vulnerable youth groups in rural areas of Armenia offering ambitious economic opportunities and new employment frameworks, covering four regions in Armenia, namely Lori, Shirak, Tavush and Gegharkunik.
Thanks to the project more than 13 innovative start-ups received support, 4 regional VET colleges were renovated to host modern educational spaces. Also a new digital product aimed at promoting freelance and remote employment was launched reaching more than 3,000 users. The number of direct project beneficiaries is expected to exceed 50,000.
The representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Armenia and national partners of the project attended the online event.
