UNDP-Russia strengthen their collaboration on climate change, youth across CIS countries
Russia has allocated funding for 10 projects in the CIS and Cambodia. The decision was made at the 10th Steering Committee of the Russia-UNDP Trust Fund for Development on 19 November 2018 in Moscow. Following project were approved:
Under the Climate Change Window:
1. Increase Resilience of Armenia to Climate Change through Modernization of Armenia’s Hydrometeorological Service, $800,000
2. Strengthening climate resilience of the Batken province of the Kyrgyz Republic through introduction of climate smart irrigation and mudflow protection measures, $900,000
3. Building Climate Resilience in Agriculture and Water Sectors of Rural Tajikistan, $831,000
4. Enhancing the adaptation and strengthening the resilience of farming to Climate Change Risks in Fergana Valley, Uzbekistan, $800,000
Under the Youth Window:
5. Future Skills and Jobs for Armenia’s Rural Youth, $800,000
6. Promoting Decent Youth Employment in Cambodia, $800,000
7. Digital skills and opportunities for youth employment to advance digital economy in Kyrgyzstan, $1,000,000
8. Youth for Business and Innovation, Tajikistan, $1,000,000
9. Promoting Youth Employment in Uzbekistan, $1,000,000
10. Strengthening youth volunteerism in the CIS through partnerships for development – Youth, Unite and Volunteer! $400,000
With 10 projects approved today, there is a total of 29 Russia-funded projects in the Trust Fund with a total funding over $38 mln.
