The UNDP-Russia Partnership was presented at the Dhaka Global Dialogue in Bangladesh
The Dhaka Global Dialogue was held on 11-13 November 2019 in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The event was organized by the Bangladesh Institute of International and Strategic Studies and the Observer Research Foundation in India.
The Global Dialogue participants discussed the development of the Indo-Pacific region: climate security, migration management, future of skills, health care system issues, development of the digital economy and infrastructure of the region, use of renewable energy, fight against extremism, innovations and transformation of the Bangladesh economy.
One of the sessions of the Global Dialogue - Financing for Development: Partnership for Growth - was dedicated to financial instruments for development. Ksenia Kirilova, Knowledge Management Analyst at the Partnership Support Office in Russia, spoke about the development of the Russia- UNDP Partnership and the Trust Fund - the main financial mechanism in support of the CIS countries, as well as other low-income and lower-middle income regions. The event was attended by the Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Sheikh Hasina. The representatives of more than fifty countries, including politicians, civil servants, scientists, representatives of large, small and medium businesses, employees of international organizations and journalists were also present at the event.
