International Conference of volunteer research

30 May 2018
The International Conference "Volunteering Studies: Directions, Interdisciplinary Context, Forming a Professional Community, Prospects for International Integration" was organized by the Center for Civil Society Research and the Nonprofit Sector of the Higher School of Economics, and for the second year in a row was supported by the UN Volunteers programme and Russia-UNDP Partnership. The conference is a unique platform for analytical reflection and expert discussion of modern processes that characterize the development of volunteerism, not only in Russia, but also in the world.
A distinctive feature of the conference is a dynamic dialogue on the ways of volunteer development which unites not only researchers but also nonprofit practitioners. During the two days of the conference, participants in the sessions, round tables and other events of the conference were presented with a systemic, large-scale picture of Russian volunteerism, which covers a growing variety of social initiatives.
Among the speakers were leading Russian and international experts and researchers.
With the support of Russia-UNDP Partnership, 12 researchers from Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Moldova and Tajikistan were able to participate in the conference.
