The Agency for Strategic Initiatives invites to participate in an innovative solutions competition to address social challenges
On March 26, 2021 the UNDP project "Knowledge Management and Capacity Building in the Russia-UNDP Partnership" and the Agency for Strategic Initiatives hosted a webinar on artificial intelligence and big data technologies. The event was aimed at promoting international cooperation to solve global social problems using innovative technologies. The webinar included a presentation of the International competition on solving global social problems using AI & Data technologies of artificial intelligence and big data.
The event featured speeches by Vera Adayeva, Director of the ASI Centre for Digital Development, Andrey Petrov, ASI Programme Manager, and Yana Kovalenko and Alexey Korobov, ASI Project Directors. The speakers described technological components of the implemented initiatives and shared successful examples of digital solutions in Russia, such as recognition of Braille writing system, implementation of road accident monitoring system, forecasting of water levels during spring floods, and water pollution by products of industrial and agricultural activities.
The webinar also covered international experience in implementing digital solutions in Uzbekistan. Ismira Mavlyankarieva, a representative of the IT Park of Uzbekistan, shared the experience of participation in the ASI AI & Data Challenge international competition in 2020. During the webinar the experience of UNDP Regional Centre for Europe and CIS countries in implementation of innovative solutions in UNDP programmes was also presented.
The webinar brought together more than 80 participants, including representatives of UNDP projects funded by the Government of the Russian Federation, national government authorities, development agencies, partner companies in the countries where UNDP programmes are implemented.
