Worldskills Russia and their national operators present experience in vocational education development
With rapid developments in the labour economics, the future of employment is likely to undergo massive changes in the foreseeable future. New professions will appear more often, and therefore new skills will be required from the youth. In this light, most existing systems of vocational education in the CIS require modernization.
On 8 October, Worldskills Russia jointly with Worldskills operators in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan conducted a webinar ‘Worldskills as an instrument for economic growth’ and presented the instruments of shaping a sustainable system of vocational education to the UNDP Country Offices. Speakers shared their experience in supporting employment programmes, creating and developing digital solutions and platforms and promoting new technological developments. The webinar highlighted the potential for development cooperation and sharing experience between CIS countries on the use of innovative instruments on strengthening vocational education, and digital solutions and platforms development in the states.
More than 60 participants took part in the webinar, including representatives on UNDP COs in Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
The event was organized by the Partnership Support Office in the Russian Federation jointly with the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation, the Agency for strategic initiatives, and the WorldSkills Russia.
