Russian UN Volunteers embarked on the assignments
On 16 and 24 February 2021, UNV conducted virtual training sessions for 10 new UN Volunteers selected under the Russian Full Funding Programme. During the trainings, UNV staff spoke to new volunteers about the basic principles of the organization, features of work and covered a wide range of topics, including leadership, conflict management and well-being. Russian Volunteers also learned how to become successful in volunteering and networked with other volunteers from Korea, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, Ireland, Sweden and France.
Due to continuing travel restrictions caused by the coronavirus pandemic, most volunteers started their service remotely. To date, only two volunteers in Serbia and Armenia relocated and started working from the office.
The joint MFA-UNV Full Funding Programme was established in 2018 and since that time provides opportunities for Russian citizens to gain unique international experience and help the UN address sustainable development challenges in the CIS, Africa, Asia and the Middle East.
