Secretary-General invites a Russian expert to be a member of the Global Sustainable Development Report Independent Group
The Secretary-General of the United Nations António Guterres invited a distinguished Russian expert Sergey Bobylev to be a member of the Global Sustainable Development Report Independent Group which consists of fifteen prominent scientists. The main task of the group will be to prepare the second quadrennial Global Sustainable Development Report that will touch upon the global disruption caused by the pandemic which severely affects and undermines the sustainable development progress. The report will be published in 2023 to inform the high‑level global review of the implementation of the 2030 Agenda in September of that year.
The Global Sustainable Development Report (GSDR) originated when the UN Member States laid the groundwork for the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and was meant to provide a vital evidence-based instrument to support policymakers in promoting poverty eradication and sustainable development.
